BlackBerry A10 to be a big full touch phone with a Q4 release date
BlackBerry’s next flagship BB10 handset is set to be a ‘big’ full touch device to rival the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One, industry sources have revealed.

Expected to land as the BlackBerry A10, the company’s BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 follow-on will reportedly see the manufacturer once again troubling the big players, with an expansive touchscreen display reportedly backed up by a bulging array of premium innards.
Suggesting the handset could help finally restore BlackBerry’s ailing fortunes, an insider within a leading UK network provider, who claimed to have sampled a prototype device, told us the as yet unconfirmed BlackBerry 10 handset will play host to a big full touch display, scrapping the physical QWERTY keyboard supported by both the BlackBerry Q10 and BlackBerry Q5.
Hinting that the handset could be around the 5-inch mark in size, our source told us the device will be a powerhouse of the smartphone scene, with BlackBerry getting ready to throw everything it can at this new, flagship handset. They failed to provide further details on the handset’s exact specs sheet.
Although failing to confirm the name of the device, the insider suggested the handset, which has leaked elsewhere as the BlackBerry A10, will supersede the BlackBerry Z10 as the Canadian manufacturer’s flagship handset. They added the A10 arrival could see the Z10 price pushed down to a more affordable mid-market level.
Completing BlackBerrys 2013 line up, the Canadian handset manufacturer revealed earlier in the year it would launch five new phones this year. Our industry insider telling us the Z10, Q10 and BB Live unveiled Q5 will be joined by the mysterious big full touch device and a new BlackBerry 7 OS powered handset.
BlackBerry has yet to offer any word on the mooted BlackBerry A10 arrival. We will keep you posted on all the latest BlackBerry A10 news as and when we get it.

Top 5 Largest Smartphone Vendor In 3rd Quarter 2012
Based on the data and the latest statistics released by IDC (International Data Corporation) , the world mobile phone market grew by 2.4% for the third quarter of 2012 (Q312). A total of 444.5 million units of mobile phone marketed by manufacturers - world phone manufacturers in Q312 compared to 434.1 million units of the same period in 2011. This development is driven by the dominance of Samsung and Apple. Here are the Top 5 Worlds Largest Smartphone Manufacturer in 2012.

Top 5 Largest Smartphone Manufacturer 2012

Based on the data above, the Nokia no longer listed in the Top 5 and an opportunity for vendors such as RIM (Research In Motion), ZTE and HTC to dominate the market. However, Nokia is still felt in second place behind Samsung as the largest producer for the year 2012 (until the third quarter - see data below). As a result of this report concluded that consumers no longer choose the Symbian platform, and they (Nokia) are now in the process of transition from Symbian to Windows Phone platform and to some extent contributed to this situation.
For Samsung, their desire to emerge as the worlds largest smartphone manufacturer in 2012 almost a reality after being in second place for the year 2011. For the record, share 31.3% by Samsung for the third quarter of 2012 was the first time that happened since Q409. Improvement in market largely driven by high-end models of their products like the Galaxy SIII .
For Apple, despite the iPhone 5 has been released, their dominance will show significant improvement in the fourth quarter of 2012 as the product has yet to enter most markets in the world.

Conclusion
There is nothing - what I expect other than wait and see if Nokia and RIM (Research In Motion) is able to compete and survive the pressure from competitors - competitors are more aggressive in their efforts to dominate the smartphone world. As a consumer, the existence of the various options is a pleasure and advantage that can not be described with words - words.Tuesday, September 10, 2013
Galaxy S4 Visa Pay With Your Phone!
Todays rumor isnt directly related to just the Galaxy S4 smartphone directly, but it does certainly involve Samsungs future flagship. You see, it seems that Samsung and Visa have struck a great deal which will allow users to make credit card payments via near field communication (NFC). This will be a feature that will work on all future, next-generation Samsung devices that have NFC chips. Neither Visa nor Samsung mention what will be considered a "next generation" device, but it is safe to assume that devices such as the Galaxy S IV and the Galaxy Note III fall into this category.
![]() |
| Making things simple! |
The agreement between the two companys gives Samsung access to Visas PayWave system. This is a system that is very similar to Google Wallet. The basic concept is that you can input your credit card information on your phone and then just pay for stuff by tapping your phone on a special pad at the store. Quite a handy feature isnt it? Honestly, I dream of seeing the end of physical currency and somehow I vision a day when mankind will have a common currency and be able to pay for everything virtually. I see this as a good step in that direction!
![]() |
| Get ready folks! |
But enough about my silly ideas, let us focus on what this agreement means for Samsungs Galaxy S4. As you can already imagine, this is good marketing potential and it clearly gives the consumer the knowledge that this a premium device. However, it is unclear whether or not all the Galaxy S4 models in the USA will have this feature. The main problem is that AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile have their own payment system called ISIS which works in a similar way, and their devices block other apps that try to do the same thing. A good example of this is the Google Wallet app.
So, what do I think about the whole Galaxy S4 Visa PayWave idea? I find it brilliant as you can tell, but I would not call it the pride and joy of the device. However, this feature will, along with many other software and hardware innovations that Samsung is expected to release, certainly make the smartphone look much more attractive and, in the end, it is always the little things that get us! After all, people are already going crazy over the Galaxy S IV eye-tracking concept!
So, what do you guys and girls think?

iOS 7 to introduce head movement controls
iOS 7 will allow users to control their iOS device using head movements, a feature discovered in the new iOS 7 beta 2.

Found in the Accessibility section within the Settings menu, the head movement control option will allows users to access certain features using head gestures in the newly confirmed iOS 7.
Left or right head movements can be used to access the home button, for example. Other functions that can be controlled using head movements include calling up Siri, opening the Notification Centre, increase or decrease the volume, open the App Switcher panel or even just tap the touchscreen.
It seems that all the available options offered with any left or right head movement are cycled through, with an additional head movement made to select that option.
Intended for Accessibility iOS 7 users, the new head movement controls are nonetheless an interesting addition to Apple’s new mobile OS.
Similar to the Samsung SmartScroll and SmartPause functions found within the Samsung Galaxy S4, iOS 7 looks to take advantage of the sensor and cameras in Apple devices like the iPad mini and iPhone 5.
The new head movement control feature was discovered in the iOS 7 beta 2 version released earlier this week to iOS developers.
Some of the new features discovered in the version 2 beta of iOS 7 include new male and female Siri voices and iPad support. iOS 7 beta 2 also included the Voice Memos app that was missing from the original iOS 7 beta.
iOS 7 brings a flatter and more refined user experience than the current iOS 6 operating system, which Apple describes as “the most significant update since the original iPhone.”
The iOS 7 will launch in autumn as a free download for iPhone 4, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5, with the iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad 4 also making the iOS 7 cut.

BlackBerry Q5 release date tipped for mid July with sizeable price tag
Despite being launched as the first BB10 smartphone designed for the price conscious, the affordable BlackBerry Q5 may launch with a hefty £349.98 SIM-free price tag.
Launched last month at the BlackBerry Live conference as a mid-range device packing a full physical QWERTY keyboard, the BlackBerry Q5 was said to target “budget and emerging markets” by BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins.
However, according to Unlocked-Mobiles, the BlackBerry Q5 may not be as kind on the wallet as expected. The site lists the QWERTY keyboard handset for £349.98 on a SIM-free basis, which may put it in line with other mid-range handsets like the Nokia Lumia 820, but is certainly not for those on a tight budget, especially when something like the Google Nexus 4 only costs £239 for 8GB or £279 for the 16GB option.
The supposedly affordable BB10 OS smartphone should become available around the middle of July.
It has a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage bolstered by its microSD card slot for expandable storage options. Powered by a 2,100mAh lithium-ion battery, the BlackBerry Q5 will be available in red, white, black and pink body options aiming to appeal to the younger market.
The BlackBerry Q5 has a 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera with an additional 5-megapixel snapper up front and weighs just 120g, despite its 10.8mm thick body.
Running the upcoming BlackBerry 10.1 OS, the BlackBerry Q5 certainly feels like the inferior version of the BlackBerry Q10, but still has a fairly strong set of innards.
